Community Based Protection, Treatment and Support Studies Seminars in Substance Abuse

In cooperation with Ege University Substance Addiction, Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences (BATI) Institute and New York State University at Albany (SUNI), “Society of Addiction-Based Protection, Treatment and Support Studies on Substance Abuse” seminar was organized in Ege University on 3-6 November 2014. 130 people including physicians, nurses, psychologists, sociologists and social workers participated the seminar. The language of instruction is English and Turkish. Simultaneous translation service was also given. Tobacco, alcohol and drug addiction, comorbidity in addiction, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy methods, the relationship between substance use and HIV infection and treatment, legal rules and regulations pertaining to addiction in Turkey was presented in the seminar. Participants’ demands have been taken towards the realization of education and initiatives for the planning of the program will be take place on other places in Turkey
